2020 marked the 100th anniversary of the founding of Negro League Baseball. Brave trailblazers, including the legendary Josh Gibson who played for both the Homestead Grays and Pittsburgh Crawfords, paved the way for African-American players to break through the color barrier that existed in professional sports. To honor this milestone, The Josh Gibson Foundation planned a series of events to both raise awareness and funds – all to support the organization’s mission of giving other young, African American athletes across the Pittsburgh region the resources and opportunities to play the game of baseball. While Covid hampered the ability to hold most of the events, the promotional materials created by MarketSpace and 9Rooftops brought light to this very important cause and organization.
